Shakespeare In The Park (Macbeth) — Sat & Sun Sept 21-22, 2pm
Enjoy Free Shakespeare in the Park at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater this season for the first time in SF Shake’s 31-year history! The show this season is Macbeth, which is also a first for Free Shakespeare in the Park. In case you’re not familiar with the Free Shakespeare program, no tickets or reservations are needed and audiences are welcome to bring a picnic.

Regarded as one of the Shakespeare’s major tragedies, Macbeth is memorable for its suspenseful plot and thrilling scenes of witchcraft and swordplay. Audience members will recognize Macbeth’s famous soliloquies, including “Is this a dagger which I see before me?” and “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow”, as well as the witches’ rhymes “Double, double, toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble.”

In addition to the Macbeth performance, there will also be a short Green Show on the lawn, called ‘Witchipedia. Thirty minutes prior to curtain, our three witches will provide a family-friendly, 15-minute orientation to the world of Macbeth that’s great fun for all ages!
